Hi everyone, if you’re reading this you’ll realize that it’s been a rather long time since I updated. I started this blog last year as a way of trying to show some of the work and modeling projects I was working on. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I was picked up for a deployment to Afghanistan, so I spent most of the summer 2013 training for and then deploying overseas. Even though I made it back safely in February, I decided to retire from the military and have spent the last year either preparing for retirement or actually searching for a job.
Still, I wanted to get this blog back up and working and found that the only thing keeping me from it was the fact that I just needed to sit down and start writing again. So here we are.
So now that we are a few days from Christmas and the New Year is upon us, I’m getting back to it.
My painting table has three main projects at the moment.
- A new Cryx Army
- A new Dwarf Army
- A new Lotr project
Back in 1984 I purchased my first miniatures game, Warhammer Fantasy Battles 2nded. I bought some old Ral Partha dwarf models and my friends and I started our wargaming habit. Dwarves have always been my favorite but the later editions of WHFB never seemed to be as fun as 2nd and 3rd. Recently though, I've really been wanting to get back to fantasy gaming and have been looking around for something to play. Thank goodness for Kickstarter. I bought into the new Mantic Kings of War Kickstarter recently and decided that I wanted to break out all the dwarves I had laying about in boxes and get them painted and back on the table.
The army I’m planning, will be a mixture of some of my older painted models (stripped and repainted) and models that I never got around to painting.
Additionally, I decided to do I bit of faction jumping this year and I’ve slowly been putting together a Cryx faction using models I picked up over the last few years from flea markets.
So here is my first post, I’ll get another post done her in the next day or so and fill you in on the details and status of my projects.
Till next time
Cheers!!!
