Easter Sunday

Happy Easter everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately.  After a rough month of work, I got very sick with bronchitis which I’m still slowly getting over.

However, I have several projects lined up over the next month.  After painting the  most models for our local journeyman league, I’m just about ready to set me Khador on the back burner and start working my son’s Menoth troops.  I also have a 28mm ACW lined up to paint and several new units of Erebor Dwarves for my LOTR army.  Keep checking out this space for more regular updates.

Swap Meet Day!!!

 

Huzzah Hobbies, one of our local game stores, hosted a swap meet for all the gamers in the area.  There was a huge turnout and I saw quite a few fully painted armies go for sale.  I brought an assortment of games and figures with me to sell and managed to do both some cash sales and a few swaps.  I had really hoped someone would have taken my Battle Fleet Gothic stuff but I never made the sale.

Privateer Press News

There’s been a lot happening on the Warmachine front this week.  

First off, for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, Privateer Press announced a new faction for Warmachine.  The Convergence of Cyriss is an all robotic army which should take the game by storm.  I have no doubt that this faction is going to push the game forward in ways we can’t imagine.

With a good black primer on the model I can begin to work on the painting.  I begin paining all my warjacks the same way buy picking out all the medal bits on the model and painting them either gray or brown depending on what I plan to put there.

New Warmachine League

Our local meta’s new league started last night.  It was a fury of games being played.  I didn’t manage to get any pictures taken but managed to play three great games with mixed reselts.

WIP….Beast 09 Part 3

Ok, time to start work on the actual Beast 09 model.  This model is in fact, a beast to put together (yes pun was intended).   To start off with, the Beast model is still a metal miniature.   No plastic update that I have seen in it's near future.  Normally I prefer painting and modeling metal over plastic but in Privateer Press’s case, warjacks are tough models to get looking right. 

 

After some extensive work with my files, I was able to smooth out most of the mold lines.  Now came the hard part which was fitting the major pieces of the model together and then ensuring no seems or gaps are evident.  As you can see from the pictures below, a lot of work went into covering up the gaps.  I used a small amount of green stuff the help fill the gap, the smoothed it out using liquid green stuff.  I really like using the liquid green stuff because I can sand and file it down to get a smooth look in the end.

WIP….Beast 09 Part 2

I hope everyone out there had a really good New Years.  Well it’s been a miserable week.  First week back to work after an extended holiday is always tough.  To top it all off I think I may be catching a bit of a cold and so I’ve not even gone near the painting table since Monday.  

To continue where the last post left off, I got the basic base together and painted.  Here are the results;
